Founded in Fostoria, Ohio, in 1939 and headquartered in Findlay since 1948.

Our story

Peterman Associates, Inc. was founded by Glen A. Peterman in 1939. Originally known as Peterman and Harvey and located in Fostoria, Ohio, the company relocated to Findlay in 1948 and established what is now Peterman Associates, Inc. Today we employ more than 23 full-time staff with a wide range of talent and experience. Our corporate office is still in Findlay.

Our goal is quality professional service for our clients. That commitment has kept us in business for more than eight decades. Satisfied clients become long-term relationships, and those relationships make up most of our work.

We offer a wide range of professional services, including architectural design, construction management, engineering, environmental services, planning, structural engineering, inspection, and surveying. We are licensed in Ohio and North Carolina and prequalified by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

We keep up with technology. AutoCAD and Revit are the base platforms for our construction plans, supplemented by AASHTO pavement analysis software, Energy-10 building life-cycle cost estimating, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow (storm sewers, hydrographs, and open channels), Pacsoft CivilMaster, WaterCAD, and Hydronet. We produce color and black-and-white drawings, digital renderings, and printable images. We add software as needed to keep our data compatible with our clients' systems. Our offices are fully networked, so our technical staff can reach project data quickly.

The Administration Department handles billing, general marketing, staff coordination, and office management from our Findlay, Ohio headquarters.

Our history

  1. Glen A. Peterman founds the firm, then known as Peterman and Harvey, in Fostoria, Ohio.

  2. The company relocates to Findlay, Ohio, establishing what is now Peterman Associates, Inc.

  3. Nick E. Nigh joins the firm.

  4. Todd M. Jenkins joins the firm.

  5. Nick E. Nigh becomes Partner and President.

  6. Eric Trout joins the firm.

  7. Todd M. Jenkins becomes a Partner.

Our team

  • Nick E. Nigh, P.S.

    Partner / President

    Nick has been with Peterman Associates since 1979 and became Partner and President in 1995. He has 46 years of experience and supervises the Surveying Department and all survey-related operations. His field experience and leadership help the firm complete projects efficiently and on time. Nick is a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio and the Ohio Contractors Association.

  • Todd M. Jenkins, P.E., MSCE

    Partner / Chief Operating Officer

    Todd has been with Peterman Associates since 1994 and became a Partner in 2025. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, holds a Class III Wastewater License, and has 32 years of experience. Todd supervises the Engineering Department. He pairs technical expertise with a common-sense business approach to give clients cost-effective, creative solutions.

    Rich is NCARB certified and has 37 years of experience. His projects span numerous states across the Midwest.
